What to avoid when developing new a website

There can be many options, opportunities and technologies when developing a new website design. Most of people will get a professional web design agency to do so, some people undertake website design process themselves.

Depending on your budget, the web design firm will provide various options that are available to you. Some people may be tempted to choose as many bells and whistles as are possible on their website. A website design with unnecessary bells and whistles may not only cost you a lot of money but it could become an awkward and baffling experience for the visitors of the website.

Some of the technologies that should be carefully considered are:

Advertisements & Pop-ups Some website owners want to make money through ads on their website. The suggestion is if your website is not an advertising portal than don't do it. Avoid them if you don't want to lose visitors who could become customers of your actual business.

Music Depending on your business, music could be practical or futile for your website design. A good professional website designer should consider the following issues when including sounds at the time of website development:

  • What type of business you are in? Is your business related to feeling good or having fun.
  • Are the prospective visitors going to be attracted or distracted by the music on your website?

There is no real reason to use music in your web development.

You're encouraged to rate the wines you've tasted on a plus scale. Use the plus symbol “+” (didn't enjoy) to “+++++” (extraordinary).

BumpTop is a fun, intuitive 3D desktop that keeps you organized and makes you more productive. Like a real desk, but better. Now with awesome mouse and multi-touch gestures! DOWNLOAD NOW

BumpTop is your digital assistant. Slice and dice a big, hairy mess of files into neatly stacked piles with Pile by Type, instantly. Or 'Search as You Type' to filter down what you’re looking for then pile by that keyword. If only it were this easy in real life.

Jot down a Sticky Note or pin up commonly used shortcuts and important documents on your BumpTop walls. Make them real big to remind you to finish that task, without getting in the way of your desktop.

Share pictures with your social networks is easy. Just toss them at the Facebook, Twitter or Email widget and they're uploaded in one step. Instead of the clunky browser/find-the-file-on-your-filesystem dance. Or update Twitter directly from BumpTop. Tweet!
